Summary
A comprehensive analysis of the world-data on αs is reported together with its average value at the Z0 mass. The effective constraints onM SUSY andM GUT are given. The care needed to reach any conclusion onM SUSY is discussed. For example, taking for the α1, α2, α3 coupled equations a numerical solution (it should be the most reliable one) and the two standard deviation limits in the uncertainty of the αs(M Z 0 world average, the expectedM SUSY values range from 100.5±0.5 GeV to 105±1 GeV,i.e. from GeV to PeV.

Nuovo Cimento,2, No. 14 (1979). The statement on p. 2 of this paper, «Unification of all forces needs first a Supersymmetry. This can be broken later, thus generating the sequence of the various forces of nature as we observe them», was based on a work byA. Peterman andA. Zichichi where the renormalization group running of the couplings using Supersymmetry was studied with the result that the convergence of the three couplings improved. This work was not published.
