Literature Cited
Must be in alphabetical order, then chronologically within the alphabet. (e.g., Tomb, 1971. comes before Tomb & Turner, 1969).
Use long dash for immediately repeated names. See examples in recent issue of BRITTONIA.
Journal citations are to be abbreviated according toBotanico-Periodicum-Huntianum. For other details of bibliographic citation, the Guide to the Citation of Botanical Literature appended to theInternational Code of Botanical Nomenclature should be followed. Authors are encouraged to consult Stafleu’sTaxonomic Literature concerning matters of accurate citation, dates of publication, and other bibliographic details before submitting their manuscripts.
Citations designated as “in press” must have been accepted for publication and the name of the journal or press included. However, they are still listed as “in press” until actually published.
There should be a period and a space after each initial of an author’s name.
After the colon following the volume number, there should be a space, then the page numbers. Example:54: 92–96.
Pagination figures for books are not to be published.
