Summary
45 cases of respiratory tract infections were studied with respect to their mode of presentation and throat swab culture for bacteria. They were treated with ‘Eskaycillin’ in two scheduled doses, 50 mg/kg and 100 mg/kg of body weight. Out of all the respiratory tract infections, 84.4% cases were cured completely; 6.6% cases relieved but they did not return for follow up; and 8.8% cases were not sensitive to ampicillin (‘Eskaycillin’). 100% cure was observed in bronchopneumonia and 90% in upper respiratory tract infections.
