Abstract
The purpose of this article is to address select legal, and ethical aspects of pre-employment psychological evaluations for criminal justice system personnel. Relevant case law will be reviewed which addresses an agency's prerogative to conduct pre-employment psychological evaluations. Ethical issues extracted from the American Psychological Association's Ethical Principles of Psychologigsts and Code of Conduct and the Specialty Guidelines for Forensic Psychologists are reviewed.
