Neutral strange-particle production in pp collisions at 6.92 GeV/c

Summary

Neutral strange particle production in pp collisions at 6.92 GeV/c has been studied in the 80 in. HBC at BNL. Partial crosssections for the different channels are given. No evidence for hyperon-nucleon resonances has been observed. Strong production ofN *3/2 (1236) and Y *1 (1385) has been seen in the four- and five-body final states, which has been analysed in terms of a one-pion-exchange mechanism.

Si è studiata al CERN la produzione di particelle strane neutre negli urti pp a 6.92 GeV/c nella camera a bolle ad idrogeno da 80 in. Si riportano le sezioni d'urto parziali per i differenti canali. Non si sono osservate prove a favore delle risonanze iperone-nucleone. Negli stati finali a quattro e cinque corpi è stata osservata una notevole produzione diN *3/2 (1236) e Y *0 (1385), produzione che è stata analizzata in termini di un meccanismo a scambio di un pione.

В ННА на 80 in. ВПК было изучено рождение нейтральных странных частиц в рр соударениях при 6.92ГэВ/с. Приводятся парциальные поперечные сечения для различных каналов. Не наблюдалось подтверждения для гипероннуклонных резонансов. Было обнаружено сильное рождениеN *3/2 (1236) и Y *1 (1385) в конечных состояниях с четырьмя и пятью частицами, которое анализировалось в терминах механизма с одно-пионным обменом.
