Unitarity and hadron self-energy: the breaking ofSU ₆ in the meson spectrum

Summary

In this paper the problem of unitarity effects in hadron self-energies is studied. The resulting framework is then applied, within the recently proposed quark geometrodynamical theory, to the (approximate) calculation of mass shifts andSU ₆ symmetry-breaking patterns of the low-lying mesons. We derive a correct description of the mass splittings in the (35,L=1)SU ₆×O ₃ multiplet, good experimental agreement for the Zweig-forbidden decay (ϕ→3π) and predictB(f′(150))→→π⁺π^-≃0.025.

Si studiano gli effetti di unitarietà sulle autoenergie degli adroni. La teoria è applicata al calcolo approssimato di spostamenti di massa e di violazioni della simmetriaSU ₆ dei mesoni più leggeri. Si deriva una descrizione corretta delle differenze di massa all’interno dei mesoni appartenenti alla (35,L=1), un buon accordo con l’esperienza del decadimento ϕ→3π, e si predice il braching ratioB(f′(150))→→π⁺π^-≃0.025.
