Measurement ofK-electron capture probability in the decay of125I

Summary

TheK-electron capture probability (P K ) of the allowed transition in the decay of125I to the 35.46 keV level in the daughter nucleus125Te was measured using X-γ internal summing method for the first time. The experimentalP K value was found to be 0.825±0.035 in agreement withP K (theory) equal to 0.804.
