Cardiospasm is rare in children. In children oesophageal dilatation by thick rubber catheter under the guidance of a direct laryngoscope is suggested by the author.

Belladona, Eumydrin solution before each meal had no effect. Octyl nitrite may be tried as a conservative measure, supplemented by Vit. B.

Dilatation by bougie should be tried in early cases.

Sympathectomy, retrograde dilatation or trans-diaphragmatic oesophago-gastrostomy is reserved for chronic and intractable cases.
