Zusammenfassung

Eine bei manchen Kranken (vorzugsweise männlichen Asthenikern) durch Form und Lage des Coecum bedingte Schmerzhaftigkeit der Ileocöcalgegend wird fälschlich auf Wurmfortsatzentzündung zurückgeführt und für eine Anzeige zur Appendektomie gehalten, die dann selbstverständlich nutzlos bleibt.

Es ist also beim Diagnostizieren einer chronischen Appendicitis auch auf die Konstitutionsform des Bauches zu achten.
