SU 3 and exchange degeneracy relations in vector-meson production

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970)

Summary

Experimental data on vector-meson (ρ0, ω, φ, K*0) production in meson-baryon collision are analyzed from a phenomenological point of view. The reactions considered include both the charge exchange (Y=0) and hypercharge exchange vector-meson production. A simple Regge-pole model with weak exchange degeneracy between a pair of natural parity (ϱ, A2) or (K*, K**), and a pair of unnatural parity, (π, B) or (K, KB). Regge poles is used in conjunction withSU 3 symmetry to relate various observables of vector-meson production reactions. The relations so obtained are compared with the experimental data and reasonable agreement is found both in magnitude and shape.
