On the scattering of unstable particles: V-θ sector of the Lee model with unstable V

Summary

A Lee model without stable V-particle is considered. On the basis of a treatment of unstable particles in quantum field theory given in previous papers the (V-θ)→(V-θ), (V-θ)→(N-θ-θ) and (N-θ-θ)→(N-θ-θ) scattering processes with unstable V are studied. The entire sector is solved by one integral equation. The resulting scattering amplitudes concide with the corrisponding ones given by theS-matrix theory.

Si considera un modello di Lee senza particella V stabile. Sulla base di una trattazione delle particelle instabili nella teoria quantistica di campo data in alcuni precedenti lavori si studiano i processi di scattering (V-θ)→(V-θ), (V-θ)→(N-θ-θ), (N-θ-θ)→(N-θ-θ) con V instabile. L'intero settore è risolto da un'unica equazione integrale. Le ampiezze di scattering risultanti coincidono con quelle corrispondenti date dalla teoria di matriceS.
