Summary
The α-n final-state interaction (FSI) in the break-up of deuterons by α-particles of 42 MeV has been investigated in the light of both single-levelR-matrix theory and effective-range theory. The possible sensitivity on the input parameters to reproduce the line shapes as well as the absolute cross-section of the FSI peaks is discussed in the framework ofR-matrix theory. The line shapes predicted by the effective-range theory are in general acceptable.
