Which symmetry-breaking pattern ofSO(10) is better?

Summary

The symmetry breaking of the grand unified theorySO(10) can proceed through the branchesSU(5) orSU(2)LSU(2)RSU(4)c. We show that the latter is preferred over the former. This conclusion is in agreement with the recent findings of the other groups.
