Summary
The symmetry breaking of the grand unified theorySO(10) can proceed through the branchesSU(5) orSU(2)L⊗SU(2)R⊗SU(4)c. We show that the latter is preferred over the former. This conclusion is in agreement with the recent findings of the other groups.
