A resonance of the von Neumann-Wigner type in a system of two charged particles

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970)

Summary

The resonances of the von Neumann-Wigner type in relativistic systems of two charged particles such as e±−e±, μ±−μ±, τ±,−τ± and \(t\bar t\) are discussed. Interaction of the charged particles via exchange of photon, Z0 and H bosons generates a relativistic analog of the Yukawa potential. This Yukawa potential exhibits a certain similarity with potentials of the von Neumann-Wigner class. The condition of existence of von Neumann-Wigner-type resonances is found.
