On modifications of the Fubini-Dashen-Gell-Mann sum rule for Compton scattering

Summary

We investigate possible modifications of the nonforward Fubini-Dashen-Gell-Mann (FDG) sum rule in non-Abelian Compton scattering in the cases when the forward sum rule has 1) the form proposed by Barry, Gounaris and Sakurai, and 2) the usual form. The condition for the equivalence of the relations which arise on differentiating the FDG sum rule with respect toq ² andt, atq ²=0,t=0, is also discussed. We suggest that our work provides a mechanism in which recent objections to the Cabibbo-Radicati sum rule can be overcome.
