S-matrix and duality: An analysis from the viewpoint of the structure of hadrons

Summary

It is argued here that the rearrangement of the constituents (partons) of hadrons in hadronic strong interactions helps us to effectively avoid the difficulties encountered in Lagrangian field theory,S-matrix approach and conventional dual models and as such a proper dynamics of strong interactions can be envisaged on the basis of the structure of hadrons. In this picture duality appears to take a deeper meaning inherent in the structural aspects of hadrons rather than being a mere phenomenology.

Si argomenta che il riordinamento dei costituenti (partoni) degli adroni nelle interazioni adroniche forti aiuta a superare le difficoltà che si incontrano nella teoria di campo lagrangiana, nella teoria delle matriciS e nei modelli duali convenzionali e così si possono delineare dinamiche appropriate delle interazioni forti sulla base della struttura degli adroni. In questa rappresentazione si vede che la dualità assume un significato più profondo inerente agli aspetti strutturali degli adroni piuttosto che a una mera fenomenologia.

Резюме

В этой работе доказывается, что перегруппировка составных частей (партонов) адронов при адронных сильных взаимодействиях помогает нам избежать трудностей, которые встречаются в лагранжианной теории поля. МетодS-матрицы и обычные дуальные модели, а также соответствующая диамика сильных взаимодействий могут быть рассмотрены на основе структуры адронов. В предложенной картине дуальность, по-видимому, принимает более глубокий физический смысл, присущий структурным аспектам адронов.
