Interaction energy in a configuration of several groups of many equivalent particles

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento (1955-1965)

Summary

The interaction energy in (jj) coupling for a configuration consisting of one and two groups of equivalent particles is calculated, without the use of the coefficients of fractional parentage, as a linear combination of terms appearing in a two-particle configuration. It is shown that the coefficients in the linear expansion are products of vectorrecoupling coefficients. Configurations containing one and two groups of equivalent particles are discussed.
