Summary
This paper examines the possibility of determining the thermal diffusivity of insulating or semiconducting materials with a new method, consisting in measuring the cooling or heating rates in samples of a simple geometric shape (spheres or cubes), in which boundary conditions are not fixed, as is usually the case, but are substituted by functions of time. Some experimental results are reported.
