Riassunto

Con l'applicazione di un metodo che è in sostanza una variante del metodo diWentzel, Brillouin, Kramers, all'equazione della parte radiale delle autofunzioni non relativistiche del continuo per una particella in un campo coulombiano, si ottengono delle formule asintotiche molto rapidamente convergenti ai valori esatti, formule che in certi casi possono essere più utili delle rappresentazioni usuali.

Summary

TheWentzel-Kramers-Brillouin method of finding approximate solutions of unidimensional wave equations has been applied to the radial part of the continuum eigenfunctions for a non-relativistic particle in a Coulomb field of force. The approximate formulae obtained (in finite form) are of asymptotic character and they converge very rapidly to the exact values when the radial distance increases. They are particularly useful to determine approximate values for the zeros of the eigenfunctions, which in turn can help calculate approximately integrals involving the functions in question.
