Delayed events in (1015÷1018 eV extensive air showers

Summary

Arrival time distributions are investigated in cosmic rays with energy (1015÷1018) eV. Delayed events with large delay time and with large energy are confirmed. Frequencies in the arrival time and lateral density distributions are derived and analysed. The extensive air showers are shown to have double structures, which strongly suggest the existence of heavy particles with long life in the cosmic rays above 1015 eV. Possible interpretations of the delayed events are presented.

Si studiano le distribuzioni dei tempi di arrivo in raggi cosmici con energia (1015÷1018) eV. Si confermano gli eventi ritardati con grandi tempi di ritardo e grandi energie. Si derivano e si analizzano le frequenze nel tempo di arrivo e le distribuzioni laterali di densità. Si mostra che gli sciami estesi dell'aria hanno strutture doppie, che suggeriscono decisamente l'esistenza di particelle pesanti con vita lunga nei raggi cosmici al di sopra di 1015 eV. Si presentano possibili interpretazioni degli eventi ritardati.

Исследуются распределения времен привытия в космических лучах с энергией (1015÷1018) эВ. Обнаружены запаздывающие события с большими временами задержки и с большими знергиями. Определяются и анализируются, частоты по времени прибытия и поперечные распределения плотности. Показывается, что щирокие атмосферные ливни имеют двойную структуру, что подтверждает существование тяжелых частиц с большим временем жизни в космических лучах с энергией вьппе 1015 эВ. Предлагаются возможные интерпретации запаздывающих событий.
