Conclusion

The intractability in the medical treatment of peptic ulcer is easily understood through those facts documented as above. The direction of the effort for improving the results of medical treatment is also suggested here. However, such effort appears so difficult that at present the surgical treatment must still be admitted as a major therapeutic resort.
