Summary
The decay of coherent rotational states which are produced under certain conditions in heavy-ion collisions is discussed. When the target nucleus has an ideal rotational band, the coherence of the state recovers periodically. This gives rise to strong pulses in the spontaneous photon emission probability. If the rotational band is not ideal, then the decay probability is quasi-periodic.
