Summary
We recall the ideas introduced, in a previous note, and explain a type of interferential microscope, from which the contrast microscopy proceeds. Afterwards, we observe that Zeruike’s realization is not same as this device but is slightly different. At the same time a short theory of optical images is developed in order to understand the qualitative results. Finally a particular case is treated by which we can determine the most suitable phase-shift and absorption of the phase-plate in order to obtain the best contrast in the image. The results entirely agree with those reached in the previous note, but the present study gives a better interpretation of the formulae.
