Abstract

Data on the mineral and chemical compositions, microstructure, and properties of the quatzite raw material and country rock of the southern bed of the Karaul'naya deposit are presented. A combined study revealed 8 quartzite modifications. Six high-grade raw modifications totally match the specifications of GOST 9854-81 (grade K-98) “Quartzites for dinas production.” The microinclusions found in the quartzites were assigned to fifteen secondary (accessory) minerals. The schistose country rock contained quartz, chlorite, carbonic compounds, mica (sericite), magnetite, and hematite.
