Additional information
This is the first of two articles based on a research project carried out by the authors with a team of researchers including Donald F. Kiel, William D. Tarrant, and Lloyd W. Weiden, Jr. The authors also acknowledge the contributions of the staff of Michigan State University’s stations, WMSB-TV and WKAR-Radio and of the University’s department of radio, TV, and film, all of whom counseled them in the early stages and later offered suggestions for the project’s practical application. The National Educational Television and Radio Center and Michigan State University provided funds for the study (6, 8).
