Summary
A case of anterior meningomyelocoele is reported which produced symptoms at an early age of 2 years.
It is a rare congenital anomaly with absence of or failure of fusion of the sacrum in the midline. The symptoms are due to pressure.
The operation carries a high mortality.
The literature on the subject has been reviewed.
