Abstract

Analytical expressions for determining parameters of zigzag trajectories of ultrasonic shear waves propagating in a pipe wall taking account of the pipe curvature, slant angle of the emitter coupled through a prism, characteristics of the coupling prism material and those of the tested object have been derived. The expressions are necessary for engineering estimates of basic technological characteristics of ultrasonic systems for testing thick-wall pipes.
