The two-channel problem and the inelastic unitarity condition in eigenstates of the total angular momentum

Summary

In this paper the relations coming from the unitarity of theS-matrix in the two-elastic-channel problem when also inelastic channels are open are written down. If the inelastic contributions are known, the moduli of the elastic amplitudes are obtained. A careful study is made of the conditions implied by unitarity on the inelastic « absorptions » and on the moduli and the (real) phases of the elastic amplitudes.

In questo lavoro si scrivono le relazioni di unitarietà della matriceS per il problema di due canali elastici nell’ipotesi che vi siano canali anelastici aperti. Si risolvono dette relazioni rispetto ai moduli degli elementi elastici e si studiano le limitazioni che le condizioni di risolubilità impongono sia sugli elementi elastici che su quelli anelastici.
