Summary

This article presents the observations of the polar cusps and of the magnetopause obtained in 1972 by the plasma experiment S 202 aboard the European satellite HEOS-2. The particular orbit chosen for this spacecraft has allowed the exploration of regions of high northern latitudes never systematically covered before.

L'articolo presenta le osservazioni della cuspide polare e della magnetopausa ottenute nel 1972 mediante l'esperimento di plasma S 202 a bordo del satellite europeo HEOS-2. La particolare orbita scelta per questo satellite ha permesso l'esplorazione di zone di alta latitudine boreale mai studiate sistematicamente fino ad ora.

В этой статье приводятся результаты наблюдений полярных точек возврата и магнитопаузы, наблюденных в 1972 г. с помощью плазменного эксперимента S 202 на борту европейского спутника HEOS-2. Специальный выбор орбиты для этого спутника позволяет исследовать области северных широт, которые ранее систематически не исследовались.
