Biexcitons as solitons in the one-dimensional molecular crystal

Il Nuovo Cimento B (1971-1996)

Summary

The paper is dedicated to the study of the criteria for the creation and existence of biexcitons in the soliton wave form in the molecular chains, in contact with a thermal bath. The calculations are based on the approach given by Davydov. The role of the bound-state function of the exciton pair as the weight function and the solitonic form of the centre-of-mass exciton pair was studied. We have confirmed the expected negative action of the temperature on the possibility of existence of the solitonic-biexciton solution.
