Symmetry considerations on the fission isomer spectra

  • Published:
Lettere al Nuovo Cimento (1971-1985)

Summary

Spectroscopic properties of236U and236U fission isomers are interpreted in the frame of the SU3 limit of the interaeting-boson model. The number of valence bosons has been estimated on the basis of microscopic Nilsson-Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer calculations, carried out at realistic deformations. Levels of the ground-state,β andγ bands are obtained together withE2 transitions. The results for238mU are compared with those derived by means of the extended rotation-vibration model.
