The possibility of carrying out absolute measurements with the new method is beyond present possibilities, since the depolarization suffered by the electron beam cannot at present be accounted for with sufficient accuracy. The limitation to relative measurements does not seem stringent, since the helicity of32P β-rays may be assumed as a standard in a wide energy interval (see ref. (12).)
