Summary

Supplementary feeding was commonly started at the age of 6 months. The most popular supplementary foods were tea and milk. In a majority of the children, breast feeding was continued up to 18 months. The major causes of discontinuation or supplementation of breast feeding were inadequate breast-milk secretion, “dry” breast and another pregnancy.
