12 cases of duodenal obstruction in children, acute as well as chronic, due to various causes were encountered in the G.M. & Associated Hospitals, Lucknow. 9 of these cases had extrinsic duodenal obstruction and 3 cases had intrinsic obstruction. In the former group 6 cases had Type I peritoneal bands associated with nonrotation of the midgut, 2 cases had Type II peritoneal bands and the remaining case was that of annular pancreas. In the latter, there were 2 cases of duodenal atresia and one of duodenal stenosis. The clinical and radiological features of these cases together with their management have been presented.
