Summary

The clinical and radiological findings in 113 children with urinary tract disorders are reviewed. 75 per cent of the patients showed urinary symptoms and 55 per cent showed evidence of infection. The common radiological abnormalities seen were calculi in 24, pleioureteric narrowing in 7, hypertrophy of the bladder neck in 6, pyelonephritis in 21 and Wilm’s tumour in 5. The need for an early and accurate diagnosis of the underlying lesion is emphasized which can usually be made by a proper evaluation of the intravenous pyelogram or micturating cystourethrogram.
