Abstract
Pediatricians who visited Hyderabad in the 60s and early 70s will have experienced Harish Chandra's great hospitality and kindness. Many like me were taken on a tour of the Niloufer Hospital. His work and that of his colleagues was reflected in the large number of mothers bringing their children each day to this hospital. I well remember seeing the methods he had developed to get all the mothers seen by interns. As one who has been interested in weighing and charting of children's weights I remenber discussing this with him and seeing the limited apparatus that he had at that time for weighing them. Harish Chandra was one of the first to appreciate the potenttal of the simple weighing apparatus described in this article.
