Summary
The birth weight of 1546 live born infants was studied to determine the effect of sex, gestational age, income per month, maternal age and parity. The birth weight was higher in the upper socio-economic groups. Mothers in the 20 to 30 years age group and second to fourth parity had babies with the highest mean birth weight.
