Hamiltonian Theory of Gravitation

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento (1955-1965)

Summary

In Dirac’s approach towards the Hamiltonian formulation of the theory of gravitation, there has crept an error in the computation of momenta, canonically conjugate to the fundamental metric as the field variables, which reduces the actual momenta from what they ought to be by a factor 1/2. Consequently, this has caused errors in the computation of the Hamiltonian. The purpose of this paper is to correct those errors.
