The γ+γ→ν+ gn process and its implication in cosmology

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento (1955-1965)

Summary

We consider the γ+γ→ν + gn reaction and we make an estimate of its cross-section for the energies corresponding to the photons of the visible spectrum. We develop some argumentations about the effectiveness of the process through intergalactic space, both as regards the disappearance of the photons, as well as the production of neutrinoantineutrino pairs.
