Resonance model for photoproduction of η-particles

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento (1955-1965)

Summary

An approximate dispersion relation of the Cini-Fubini type is used for the photoproduction amplitude of η-particles on protons. In the unitarity condition only the single particle and the resonant states are kept as intermediate states. The resonances we consider are ρ, Ω, N** and N***. In the multipole expansion of the amplitudes for the processes leading to these resonances only the lowest-order terms compatible with various conservation laws are retained and the Breit-Wigner formula is assumed for them. The differential cross-section and the polarization of the recoil protons are thus expressed as a function of various partial widths which serve as parameters. No numerical calculation is made.
