Summary
Hypergranular promyelocytic leukaemia is an uncommon variant of acute myeloid leukaemia. Some of the atypical features of the disease like generalized lymphadenopathy, gum hyperplasia and hepatomegaly along with the characteristic febrile illness and disseminated intravascular coagulation are presented here. The bone marrow revealed the diagnostic “atypical promyelocytes” along with an increased number of reticulum cells.
