Summary

A series of 200 cases were examined, 21 of them show infestation with the parasites,i.e. 10·5% and the age varies from 7 months to 9 years.

The symptoms may include acute and chronic gastroenteritis, hypochromic anæmia, malnutrition, œdema of the feet, pain in the abdomen and joints. No change in the blood picture other than anæmia and no eosinophilia.

Stovarsol cured majority of our series.

Atebrin was tried in several cases with great success.

Health education is the best way of prevention.
