Summary
It is shown that the assumptions of Regge behaviour and the Mandelstam representation do not immediately yield useful information on the high-energy properties of partial-wave amplitudes. An additional assumption is suggested and this leads to a decreasing behaviour, dominated on the right, but apparently not on the left, by crossedchannel Regge poles.
