Rotation of a spinless particle in the presence of an electromagnetic potential

  • Published:
Lettere al Nuovo Cimento (1971-1985)

Summary

Standard quantum-mechanical procedure, contrary to recent usage, does not require the generators of rotation, space translation and time translation to be observables. Thus, the rotation generator of a spinless charged particle in a particle-flux tube composite can be identified with the canonical angular momentum whether or not the vector potential field is irrotational and independent of the dimensionality of the geometric configuration.
