Summary
A longitudinal study on the evolution of reflex activity in infants is reported. Seventy-one infants including some prematures, cerebral palsy, hyperbilirubinemia, a mongol and a neonate with active duodenal ulcer were studied and a large number of reflexes elicited in each. Observations about normal and abnormal pattern are described. The utility and predictive value of these in guaging the state of development of the nervous system and general well being are discussed.
