Generalized two-dimensional burgers and Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equations and colliding solitons

  • Published:
Lettere al Nuovo Cimento (1971-1985)

Summary

We prove that a large class of modified Kadomtsev-Petviashvili’s (KP) or two-dimensional Burger’s (2DB) equations can be reduced to the KP or 2DB when two suitable conditions hold. We prove that the « nearly-concentric KdV » belongs to this class and the resonance interaction of « nearly-cylindrical solitons » is investigated too.
