Cross-sections and multiplicities in pα and αα collisions at very high energies

Summary

Total and elastic cross-sections are calculated for proton-alpha and alpha-alpha collisions in the framework of a generalized multiple-scattering theory. The predictions for the proton alpha-case are compared with recent ISR elastic-scattering data at low and total cross-sections at Fermilab energies.
