Estimation of prompt cosmic-ray muon flux at high energies

Summary

The prompt cosmic-ray muon flux at high energies is calculated by using a more realistic model of inclusive charm production and recent experimental results on primary spectrum in which a « knee » is taken into account. The critical energy is estimated to be 220 TeV and 1200 TeV at the zenith angle 0° and 90°, respectively.
