Summary
Assuming that muon Coulomb capture in carbon and nitrogen proceeds only through bonding electrons, it is shown that from measured muonic Lyman series intensities in cubic and hexagonal structures one can deduce initial angular-momentum distributions for muons captured through σ-electrons and π-electrons.
