    An analysis of 56 cases of iron deficiency anaemia in children is presented.

  2. 2.

    The majority of iron deficiency anaemias in infants is due to iron deficiency in the mother.

  3. 3.

    Poor nutrition in infancy and childhood with a history of infection is the second causative factor; gastro-intestinal upsets and intestinal parasites being the third causative factor.

  4. 4.

    Iron therapy preferably in liquid form with vitamin C as an adjunct produces good results.
